The Red Sox won the World Series last night, and did it on their home turf. Last time this happened, Babe Ruth was 23 years old.
Boston won its 7th World Series title and the first one at home since 1918. Big time slugger david Ortiz, and series MVP, batted a ridiculous .688 with a .760 OBP. Once again the patience and discipline of the Red Sox hitters proved too much for the pitching staff of the Cardinals, much like the ALCS match up against the Tigers.
History was made in Boston last night. Last time the Red Sox celebrated a World Series Championship was in 1918 when they beat the Cubs 4-2. In 1918, Fenway Park was 2 years old, Woodrow Wilson was President, and gas costed 50 cents a gallon. A lot has changed since then, but one thing is for sure, the Red Sox are World Champs once again and there is no question they earned it!
