UTSA Football: Did the Runners Just Sign the Next RGIII?

Tuesday February 4th, 2015.  National signing day.  While the UTSA Roadrunners didn't make national media headlines, they still ranked 82nd in recruiting which is pretty significant for the 5th year program as they go into their first season without any original players.  Arguably the best snag this off season is Copperas Cove Quarterback, Manny Harris.

The 6'0" 226 lb dual threat had some giant shoes to fill in High School playing for the Washington Redskins' RGIII's Alma Mater.  While most kids would crumble under the pressure of being the next Robert Griffin, Harris, instead, crushed his single game passing yards record with a 516 yard, 4 TD performance.  Though, the Bulldawgs would lose that game on a frantic final play.

An injury sidelined Harris in his final season and may have deterred some larger offers.  However, UTSA will gladly take Harris in search of a solid QB after Eric Soza's departure left the offense predictable and inefficient last season.  Larry Coker wasn't shy about showing his love for the signing:

Hopefully Harris can come in a get the offense moving this August as the Roadrunners look to accomplish two big firsts, winning the Conference USA and qualifying for a bowl game.
