Is Kawhi Leonard an All Star?

The NBA and Adidas just released the 2015 All Star jerseys and its got many Spurs fans wondering if the reigning Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard, will be donning one in Madison Square Garden this year.

While the sample is still small, Leonard, through sixteen games, is averaging 15 ppg and 7.7 rpg in 29.6 mpg.  Kawhi has established himself in the league as a dominant defender already and is now showing his worth on the offensive end as well.  Coach Gregg Popovich has made it clear that Leonard will assume a more predominant role in the Spurs' offense.  Pop had this to say about Leonard's increased role in the offense,

"That's the plan. We've got to start giving him the ball. You know, he's the future."

Clearly the Spurs are gearing up for the post Duncan era.  However, even if Leonard is an All Star talent (which I believe he is), who's spot would he take in the game? With the Western Conference being so dominant in itself, who does Leonard edge out?  Obviously Kevin Durant will assume the starting spot on West squad, and there's also the emergence of guys like Klay Thompson and Chandler Parsons.  Although, I'd still give Leonard the edge over those two.

Will Kawhi Leonard be an All Star?  I think he should but I guess we'll see how the votes fall.

I want to hear from you:
