A Realistic Approach to the Cowboys 3-1 Start

Last night the Cowboys absolutely destroyed the New Orleans Saints in front of the entire nation on NBC's Sunday Night Football.  With this victory, the Cowboys are sitting at 3-1 and tied with the Eagles atop the NFC East.  It looks as if the whole Tony Romo/ Jason Garrett expiriment is coming together finally.  Nope, I'm not buying it!  While they are sitting at 3-1 and played the best game I've seen in over 9 years last night, I have a feeling the real Cowboys will show up soon.  You know, the choke artists, turn over machine, penalty riddled squad who ends up 8-8 every season?  The only question is when?

Don't get me wrong, I was just as happy as the rest of Cowboys Nation to see them stomp the Saints and put together the best performance I've seen since the 90s.  However, there's a downside to the early success, and a big one.  I wholeheartedly believe the Cowboys will still figure out a way to blow this season and miss the playoffs.  All this three game win streak is really doing is feeding Jerry Jones' ego and having himself feel validated as an NFL General Manager.  Granted, a three consecutive wins in the NFL is no small feat, I'm just being realistic about it.  Inevitably, I will be called a moron, dumbass, idiot, etc. for this proclamation and for you delusional Cowboys fans I have one question:

What have the Cowboys done in the passed 18 years that makes you think this season will be different?  Hint: the answer is nothing.

I'll gladly eat crow if this season turns out to be a success, I just don't see that happening.  Some might call me a "Pragmatic Cowboys Fan" I like to call myself realistic.
