Derek Jeter Walk Off, I Smell a Conspiracy!

Long time New York Yankee, Derek Jeter, played his final game at Yankee Stadium last night and, as you would imagine, Jeter ended the game with a walk off RBI single.  Am I the only one who's screaming conspiracy here?  Can no one else see that this was a set up?

In an attempt to make Derek Jeter go out on top, the New York Yankees, Baltimore Oriels, the MLB, and Mother Nature all came together a rigged his last at bat at Yankee Stadium.  I mean really, do you think Jeter could actually knock in the game winning run?  I've never seen him do it before.  I can't wait for the backlash, the leaked game audio where Baltimore Manager, Buck Showalter, tells his pitcher "toss up a fat one to Jeter."  For MLB Commissioner, Bud Selig, to stand before the nation and walk around questions about how he will handle this.  For Jose Canseco's book revealing all the names behind the entire Jeter conspiracy.  For Bill Simmons to get suspended for calling Bud Selig and company f-ing liars on his podcast.  Its a slippery slope, ladies and gentlemen, and it WILL come out in time.

OK, not really.  I just wanted something for those conspiracy theorists to talk about at their meetings this weekend, assuming they have meetings.

In all honesty, if anyone were to walk off the field for the last time with a game winning RBI single, it would be Jeter.  Over the years, Derek Jeter has become the face of the Yankee franchise.  The only constant on an ever changing roster.  A roster which saw superstar after superstar wither away.  Derek Jeter, you are the man!  You are a top notch professional and a class act. The game of baseball will never be the same without number 2.  Thank you for all the great years.
